Giving Back Contest

Dr. Nima and contest winner, Kristian

After many years of school I have been fortunate enough to start a business and provide for my family. I have always felt the need to pay it forward, so we designed a contest around giving back for the holiday season. Amid all the festivities and gift-giving, it was an important reminder to count our blessings and to think of those less fortunate. The contest ran through November and December, consisting of guessing how many leaves were in a jar and the prize was a $50 Target gift card in addition to a $150 donation to the charity of the winner’s choice. With all of the contest submissions, we gained insight as to what causes are important to our community and in an ideal world, we would be able to support all of them. In this case, our winner, Kristian, chose to support Helping Hands, Open Hearts. It is an up and coming non-profit organization that provides services to the community. They define themselves as regular people that take their personal resources and time to benefit the betterment of the less fortunate. Kristian has previously volunteered to serve the homeless community and is especially touched seeing kids in our own city live in such conditions. As always, I want to thank all members of our community for participating in this contest and sharing causes with us that are dear to their hearts. We look forward to working you all and sharing many more events and contest, especially those that remind us how important it is to give back.
